This antibody is obtained by immunizing rabbits with a mix of seven synthetic peptides corresponding to aa15-25 (PENNLRVRVGD), aa38-40 (KYVKDGTQAELTG), aa70-82 (QEPPRQPPAQVVE), aa98-110 (TPNKL VFEKDPDK), aa190-202 (KEFDYIETDDGKK), aa288-300 (RQQAFRNKTVTAD), and aa301-313 (NTLHNVFQLLQKK) of coat protein from GLRaV-3.

This polyclonal antibody (serum) reacts with extracts of GLRaV-3-infected plants in PTA (Plate Trapped Antigen)-ELISA and Western blot (1: 1,000 dilution). GLRaV-3 belongs to the genus Ampelovirus of the family Closteroviridae and its genome is composed by a single-stranded positive-sense RNA with a 35-39 kDa coat protein. GLRaV-3 virions have a flexuous filamentous morphology, it is phloem-limited and transmitted by several species of mealybugs. The leafroll disease is one of the most destructive viral diseases of grapevines worldwide.
